About Amplify! Summer Camp:

Amplify! Summer Camp are week-long creative writing summer camps where students will write fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction. They will learn to engage playfully with language through various storytelling exercises, including writing, visual arts, improv exercises, and more. Local guest artists will also visit to engage students in new storytelling methods, incorporating fine arts, music, hip-hop rhymes, spoken word, and more.

  • WHO SHOULD SIGN UP:

    This camp is good for all levels of interest and skill! Young writers will build their writing skills and love for literacy while having fun in a safe environment!

  • COST:

    Tuition for each camp is $325 per student. Limited scholarships are available based on zip code and/or household income. Begin registration process to check eligibility.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 pm (Lunch from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm)

Session 1: June 24 - June 28 (Elementary: Rising 3-5 graders)

Session 2: July 8 - July 12 (Middle: Rising 6-8 graders)

Session 3: July 15 - July 19 (Middle: Rising 6-8 graders)

Session 4: July 29 - Aug 2 (Elementary: Rising 3-5 graders)

Session 5: Aug 5 - Aug 9 (Elementary: Rising 3-5 graders)


NOTE: It is NOT advised to sign up for more than 1 week of camp. Repeat registrants will be wait listed before confirmation of enrollment.

Important Info for Camp

  • What to bring to camp

    • Lunch is not provided. Please provide a lunch and/or snack for your student, in consideration of any allergies they may have. (Lunch time is from 12-1PM everyday). It is also encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle. We have a refill station available and disposable cups as needed.

    • Due to the COVID-19 precautions we are asking parents to limit all other personal items they send with their students. Please instruct your students not to share personal items from home with other campers.

    • We provide all other necessary supplies and materials.

  • What not to bring to camp

    • Money, video games, iPods, cell phones, or any other valuable items.  916 Ink is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • Parking

    • Our classroom “The Imaginarium” is located at 3301 37th Ave, Room 15, Sacramento – HOWEVER our closest parking lot is located at the backside of the campus on 36th Ave, right at the corner of 36th Ave. and Franklin Blvd. Our staff will be meeting you there for check-in/check-out.

  • COVID-19 Precautions

    • Your child’s safety is our number one priority. Below are the requirements for your child’s attendance to our in-person Summer Camps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We have also included for your review the precautions to keep our facility clean and safe.

      • All children experiencing any type of respiratory illness or other contagious illness are not allowed to attend.

      • Parents/Visitors are asked to stay at the door or have minimal presence inside the facility. Our office will be closed to the public throughout summer camp. Please drop off students at The 916 Ink Imaginarium, Room 15.

      • The use of face masks and hand sanitizer are encouraged for both staff and campers. Both will be made available inside the facilities at all times.

      • Staff will disinfect surfaces and objects that are frequently touched daily. Disinfection will be done with a common EPA-registered household disinfectant approved for use against the COVID-19 virus.

  • Check In/Out

    • Supervision and check in for camp begins at 9:00a.m.. Parents may not leave their students unsupervised at 916 Ink program site before check-in time.

    • Please pick up your campers on time. Staff is only available for 10 minutes after our check-out times, 4:00p.m.

  • Emergency Procedures

    • In the event of an emergency that requires medical attention, 911 will be contacted and the camper will be taken to the nearest medical facility. The parent or guardian will be notified immediately. In the event of a natural disaster, campers will continue to be in the care of 916 Ink until arrangements are made to return children to their parents/guardians.

    • 916 Ink staff is committed to keeping our space safe by training staff in campus lockdown procedures.

  • Camper Behavior

    • In the event of a behavioral problem, site teachers will have a conversation with parents/guardians to try to resolve the issue. 916 Ink reserves the right to contact the parent/ guardian at any time for immediate pick-up from camp if necessary. 916 Ink may remove any camper from the program at the discretion of the main office if problematic behavior continues.

    • Behaviors that may result in disciplinary action include but are not limited to:

    • Swearing

    • Fighting, Shoving, pushing or other aggressive acts

    • Bullying Behaviors

    • Disrespect for another person and/or property

    • Vandalism

    • Harassment (verbal, physical, sexual)
