Thank you for your interest in our 916 Ink After-School Creative Writing Workshops at our whimsical creative writing space The Imaginarium, 3301 37th Ave., Room 15, Sacramento.

916 Ink is a nonprofit literacy organization that transforms everyday kids into published authors, one published story at a time. We are dedicated to promoting literacy by empowering youth in the Sacramento region to engage in literary arts. We seek to excite young people with language, particularly written language and to instill in students a sense of joy, wisdom, whimsy, and wonder with words, to celebrate syntax. We aim to support teachers, schools, and libraries in their efforts to share the benefits of reading and writing with all area youth.

Enrolled students will write fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction with 916 Ink staff and volunteers. Through the course of the school year, your student will have the opportunity to choose 2-3 pieces of creative writing to polish and revise for publication in an anthology of student work. Each student will receive 2 free copies of their book, to be presented at a book release and reading party. Friends and family are invited to attend!
